A thoughtful foundation
Effective October 16, 2026. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Brisket editorial website and its mindful tools, available at brisket.wiki (the “Service”), provided by the operator of Brisket (“we,” “us,” or “our”).
1. Acceptance of these Terms
By accessing, browsing, or using any part of the Service — including reading the journal, opening a mindful tool, or preparing a contact draft — you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Acceptance occurs automatically upon first use of the Service; no signature or account is required. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, your only remedy is to discontinue use of the Service immediately. Where a future feature asks you to confirm acceptance separately (for example, by ticking a box), that confirmation supplements — and does not replace — the acceptance described here.
2. About Brisket
Brisket is an independent, English-language journal about nature, outdoor rituals, and everyday wellbeing, together with a small collection of free, browser-based mindful tools. All content is provided for general educational and inspirational purposes only. Nothing on the Service constitutes personalized medical advice, psychological treatment, emergency guidance, or professional outdoor instruction, and reading an article or using a tool does not establish any professional relationship with its author or with us.
3. Eligibility and your responsibilities
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, if higher) to use the Service. By using the Service you confirm that you meet this requirement. You are responsible for: (a) your own conduct while using the Service; (b) judging whether any activity described in the journal is safe and appropriate for your health, skills, equipment, location, weather, and local regulations; (c) obtaining any permissions, permits, or qualified instruction an outdoor activity may require; and (d) ensuring that any information you choose to send us is accurate and lawfully yours to share. In an emergency, contact your local emergency services — never rely on a website.
4. License to use the Service
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to access and use the Service for its intended purposes — personal, non-commercial reading and private use of the mindful tools — subject to these Terms. This license does not transfer any ownership rights, and we may withdraw it at any time if you breach these Terms.
5. User rules and acceptable use
You agree that you will not: (a) use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose, or in violation of any applicable law, rule, or regulation; (b) interfere with or disrupt the Service, its servers, or connected networks, or attempt unauthorized access to any of them; (c) probe, scan, or exploit technical vulnerabilities; (d) impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation; (e) use the Service to distribute unlawful, abusive, misleading, or harmful material; (f) scrape, crawl, or harvest content in bulk in a way that impairs ordinary access for other visitors or violates applicable rules; (g) frame, mirror, or republish substantial portions of the Service without permission; or (h) present the Service’s wellbeing content as professional medical guidance to others. We may restrict or block activity that threatens the Service or its visitors.
6. Accounts, suspension, and deactivation
The Service currently offers no user accounts, registrations, or paid memberships, so no account creation, cancellation, or deactivation procedure applies at this time. Everything you do in the mindful tools exists only in your browser session and disappears when you leave — there is nothing stored on our side to delete. We reserve the right to suspend, restrict, or terminate any visitor’s access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including breach of these Terms. If account-based features are introduced in the future, these Terms will be updated first and you will be able to stop using those features at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, dispute resolution, and governing law — survive any suspension or termination of access.
7. Intellectual property
The Service and its original content — including article text, page design, the Brisket name and logo, and the code and structure of the mindful tools — are and will remain the exclusive property of us and our licensors, protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Our trademarks and trade dress may not be used in connection with any product or service without our prior written consent. You may not claim our material as your own or republish substantial portions without permission; brief quotations with clear attribution and a link to brisket.wiki may be permitted by applicable law. Photographs on the Service are illustrative and may be generated or sourced imagery; they are not a guarantee of any particular location, condition, or available activity. If you send us suggestions or feedback, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free right to use them to improve the Service, without obligation.
8. Content you share with us
The contact form on this website deliberately prepares a copyable draft on your own device; it does not transmit or store your words. If you nevertheless choose to send us content — for example by email — you retain all of your rights to that content, and you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and display it as needed to respond to you and operate the Service. You are responsible for the legality, reliability, and appropriateness of anything you send.
9. Third-party links and resources
The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services that we do not own or control. We assume no responsibility for their content, privacy policies, or practices, and a link does not establish an endorsement. Your dealings with any third party are strictly between you and that party.
10. Accuracy and editorial limits
We aim for useful, careful writing but do not warrant that every statement is complete, current, or suitable for your circumstances. The underlying article dataset includes example.com references that are not verified research sources; we identify this limitation openly and moderate unsupported health claims rather than presenting placeholder material as research.
11. Disclaimers
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK. THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR COURSE OF PERFORMANCE. OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES INVOLVE INHERENT RISKS THAT DEPEND ON WEATHER, TERRAIN, EQUIPMENT, HEALTH, SUPERVISION, AND CHANGING CONDITIONS; ALWAYS CHECK CURRENT LOCAL GUIDANCE AND SEEK QUALIFIED INSTRUCTION WHERE APPROPRIATE.
12. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL WE, NOR OUR DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, PARTNERS, AGENTS, SUPPLIERS, OR AFFILIATES, BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES — INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES — RESULTING FROM YOUR ACCESS TO OR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO ACCESS OR USE, THE SERVICE, OR FROM ANY ACTIVITY UNDERTAKEN IN RELIANCE ON ITS CONTENT. NOTHING IN THESE TERMS EXCLUDES LIABILITY OR CONSUMER RIGHTS THAT CANNOT LEGALLY BE EXCLUDED.
13. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold us harmless from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorney’s fees) resulting from or arising out of your use of the Service or your breach of these Terms.
14. Changes to these Terms
We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at our sole discretion. For material revisions, we will try to provide at least 30 days’ notice before the new terms take effect, by updating the effective date above and, where reasonable, an on-site notice. What counts as a material change is at our discretion, exercised reasonably. By continuing to access or use the Service after revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised Terms; if you do not agree, please stop using the Service.
15. Dispute resolution
Most concerns can be resolved gently. Before starting any formal proceeding, you agree to contact us first through the contact page and attempt good-faith informal negotiation for at least 30 days. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally within that period, either party may submit it to the competent court described in Section 16. Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking urgent injunctive relief where necessary to protect intellectual property or the security of the Service.
16. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms, and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or to the Service, are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the People’s Republic of China, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Subject to Section 15, the competent people’s courts of the place where the operator of this website is located shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any such dispute, and both parties consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.
17. Entire agreement and severability
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreements on the same subject. If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force and effect. Our failure to enforce a right is not a waiver of that right.
18. Contact us
Questions about these Terms are always welcome. Reach us any time through the contact page at brisket.wiki — we read every message, slowly and with care.
